Congratulations on surviving another annual conference and yet another well meaning presidency by a part time dilettante. Since our time together in Seattle I have given a fair bit of thought to the issues and events of the last year and the lessons we might take from those events. Of course the complement to this kind of thought is at least some reflection on the future: where the association is, or might be headed, and the challenges we will face along the way.
